Structural and optical characterization of MnFe2O4 nanoparticles

چکیده

Manganese ferrite nanoparticles with chemical formula MnFe2O4 have been synthesized by low temperature co-precipitation method. The structural and optical properties of the were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX), fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) UV-visible absorption spectroscopy. XRD confirm pure spinel phase formation prepared sample. All observed peaks correspond to standard pattern manganese having JCPDS card number 74-2403. From data, average crystallite size was calculated found be 27.40 nm. FTIR spectrum shows characteristic bands ferrite. Morphology nanoferrites given SEM image revealing that particles are approximately spherical in shape. elemental composition along their relative ratios EDAX agreement initial values. UV- visible sample range from data band gap determined. possess a narrow 1.4 eV which may find applications photocatalytic degradation pollutants. simple method proves an effective for synthesis nanoparticles.
